The 45x1.4x2.0 m 2D wave flume allows to investigate the interaction of waves and structures, and to perform physical model test on sediment dynamics and beach evolution, and pollutant dispersion. The flume uses the same state-of-the-art equipment as the wave basin, including laser scanning. Wave generation is performed by a single electric paddle equipped with an active wave absorption system.

Regular waves of up to H=0.70 m and T=2.3 s and irregular waves of up to Hs=0.35 and Tp= 2.4 s can be generated in water depths of up to 1.5 m.

A glass wall along the full lengths of the flume allows non-intrusive investigation of the water flow, while the 3D bed profiling system is integrated with the data acquisition equipment to suit a wide range of applications.
